Beaver Point Lodge Information:

For detailed information regarding the lodge please use this link to view our Guide to the Lodge document. Also please check out our Activities Page for more information about canoeing, snowmobiling, fishing, golfing and white water rafting.

Beaver Point Lodge is a great place for year round activities. You and your family or friends will enjoy swimming, boating, golfing, canoeing, kayaking, biking and hiking during the summer months. In the winter enjoy some of the best winter activities in the east. We average over 200 of snow per year and the snowmobiling and skiing are great.

There are several very good Restaurants in the area. Try The Stillwater Hotel, located at the end of the Stillwater Reservoir or Zebs for great tasting ribs. Also try Memories in Lowville and the Coachlight Inn in Brantingham.  All have very good food and reasonably priced and within 30 minutes.

Summer:

The lake and beach area are expansive and private. We have over 1600 feet of private lake frontage and are located on more than 5 acres. We have a boat launch which is very helpful because the lake is private and there is no public access. The beach is large and sandy. There is a level grass area adjacent to the beach with a large fire pit and seating for everyone.

The lodge is located on Lower Soft Maple Reservoir and connected to Upper Soft Maple via a channel suitable for large motorboats. Lower Soft Maple is a smaller lake and very private with only a few homes on the entire lake. Beaver Point is located here (can you create a link to a Google map with my location). This lake is great for water-skiing, tubing and jet skiing. Upper Soft Maple is larger and very scenic and secluded. There are islands and many inlets and passages back into the shoreline. A 2011 22 foot pontoon boat with a 70 HP Yamaha motor come with the rental.

The lakes are located on the Beaver River and the canoeing and kayaking are superb. We are located in the middle of the Beaver River Canoe Trail, which is 14 miles long and provides a well-marked canoe route complete with portages and campsites. Come in September and kayak the river’s class 5-6 rapids with the release of water that happens every year at this time. Kayak the rapids of the Moshier run, Eagle run or the Taylorville run. The fishing is good with mostly bass, perch and walleye.

If a rainy day comes your way, fear not. We have a fantastic game room complete with a pool table, Ping-Pong table, game boards and a home theater set up. There is plenty of room for everyone in the 4000 sq ft lodge. If you are looking to get away for the day and go to a tourist town for shopping and dining or to take the kids to a waterpark, nearby Old Forge is a great place for a day trip.

Winter:

Beaver Point Lodge is a snowmobile and skiing paradise. With an average of more than 200 inches of snow per year you can bet on some great conditions. Main corridor trail C8 is accessible from a short ride (2 miles) on secondary trail S87 right from our private road. Please view the Trail System here. Please use this link if you need to line up Snowmobile Rentals.

Using Corridor C8, Stillwater is about 10 miles away from the lodge. The Old Forge cutoff trail is about 10 miles away giving direct access to all of the Old Forge Trails.  Going north from Beaver Point is Star Lake and Cranberry Lake, which are about 25 miles on C8. Going south from the lodge Brantingham is located about 25 miles on trail C7A and Tug Hill is a short distance from there. Beaver Point is a great location for Adirondack trail riding.

Skiing is another great opportunity for visitors to Beaver Point Lodge. Access the nearby cross-country trails directly from the lodge. Ski Snow Ridge in Turin or McCauley Mountain in Old Forge for downhill family fun.
